Mission Critical Facility Expertise for Data Centers and More
Since 1986, ATS has specialized in providing state-of-the-art building automation systems, energy management, and integration services for all types of facilities. As we began providing construction services for data centers and mission-critical facilities near our regional headquarters in Washington State, Idaho, Colorado, Georgia, and Florida, the need for a dedicated team of critical facilities engineers became apparent. The ATS Critical Facilities team has grown to over 75 dedicated operational team members with a national and international project reach.
Our proven track record of providing cost-effective solutions that meet owner and operator needs has allowed us to cultivate a trusting relationship with developers. Due to this relationship, we are often brought in during preconstruction planning, adding value by providing scope delineation coordination, cost-saving ideas, and critical engineering expertise upfront for streamlined shell and core and tenant improvement buildouts. Our team is ready to work with key stakeholders during your project’s design and preconstruction phases to convert waste into savings.
Exacting Clients
The ATS Critical Facilities team has provided control, integration, and EPMS solutions for over 1,000 megawatts of data center and mission-critical facilities throughout the United States and Europe. Due to our track record of delivering integrated design, continuous improvement, and zero downtime due to BMS issues, we’ve had the opportunity to create systems for some of the largest data and technology firms in existence. Our clients have high expectations, and so do we. We know the importance of uptime and getting the job done right the first time.
Resources and Technology Expertise
As system integrators, the ATS Critical Facilities team has the expertise and resources to ensure your project succeeds. Our roster of over 75 dedicated mission-critical engineers and technicians is well-versed in data center control strategies regardless of the technology implemented. Our engineers have experience in PLC systems, BACnet-based control systems, factory witness testing, simulations, retrofits, on-call service, and preventative maintenance services. This ensures your team gets the system they want, implemented in a way that is easy to use and understand. The way ATS is structured allows us to pull from our team of over 500 regional employees if needed, ensuring we always have the resources available to deliver your project on time and within budget.
Virtual Design Tools and BIM
ATS has embraced virtual design tools and building information modeling (BIM) as essential to preconstruction and design processes for data centers and mission-critical facilities. Virtual construction tools are critical to our team for the following reasons:
- Allows for the sequencing of workflows with other trade partners.
- Ensures space for building management systems is reserved for installation.
- Streamlines development of shop drawings and work packages.
- Provides a baseline for the quality assurance and control process.
- Enables early resolution of potential problem areas that might not have been found until construction was underway.
Prefabrication for Productivity Gains
ATS has experience using prefabrication strategies to streamline installation and reduce onsite labor costs. Prefabrication of commonly used enclosures, raceways, predrilling of common junction boxes, and more provide the following benefits:
- Reduction of onsite labor.
- Increased productivity.
- Improved safety.
- Waste elimination.
- Overall schedule reduction.
What Mission-Critical Customers are Saying
“ATS is one of the best controls contractors out there… They self-identify a huge amount of issues. Also, they hold other trades and vendors to a higher standard because of their own drive to turn over the best product. Simply put, we wouldn’t be where we are today if we didn’t have them here.”
