The ATS Operations Group has the products, tools and expertise required to integrate controls equipment from various manufacturers into a common platform in order to increase vendor independence, provide a single-seat user interface, share network media, and allow for information management processes. An integration can be as simple as establishing a communications link between the factory installed microprocessor based  controls ( ie. chiller controls, packaged AHU) and the building automation system or as complex as integrating the myriad of legacy, proprietary controls in a large existing building.  We have the experience necessary to correctly identify and qualify the customers’ needs and recommend approaches that will provide the desired outcome.

ATS utilizes the ASHRAE standard BACnet Open Protocol, as well as, the Tridium Niagara framework to leverage existing integration drivers.  In today’s world, a driver exists for almost any existing system.

Remember, by utilizing your existing field level controllers, it is possible to integrate many different legacy systems to provide you with a cost-effect migration path from older legacy systems to current and future open protocol control systems.  Some examples of  legacy systems that can be integrated include:

The Spheres

The Spheres located in downtown Seattle, WA provide a direct link to nature within an office setting. Consisting of three intersecting spherical domes the facility combines working and meeting space with plants from the cloud forest region of over 30 countries.

ATS provided an integrated building automation system featuring Alerton Controls coupled with Aircuity for monitoring of air quality, temperature, humidity, and ventilation control. These integrated systems control the facility’s office and retail spaces and keep more than 40,000 plants from around the world alive and thriving by maintaining an ideal climate. Other system integrations on this project include lighting, plant watering, and electrical meters.

SIEMENS Integration

ATS Automation provided a complete Alerton BACnet control system for the recently updated equipment installed within an existing 90, 000 square foot facility. ATS utilized the existing Siemens unitary controllers and replaced controls on the AHUS and the global controllers. St. Clare Hospital had used proprietary Siemens controls for about 20 years and is part of the Franciscan Healthcare network.

Lighting and Security Integration

The Department of Ecology (DoE) is headquartered in a 323, 000 sq.ft. building and comprised of multiple programs that work as individual business units and also as one comprehensive agency within the Washington State Government. Over the last decade, ATS, as part of McKinstry’s team, has installed Alerton controls on the AHUs, VAVs and provided a customer facing dashboard and integration to lighting and security.
